Fairview International School Johor Bahru, which began on the 14th of January 2008, is situated in the secure confines of the Johor Land Complex at the suburban neighbourhood of Bandar Dato’ Onn, surrounded by a sea of greenery, Fairview Johor Bahru has become a close-knit community school readily accessible via the North-South Highway and strategically located in the midst of several large townships. The student population of just 25 has multiplied and currently stands at just over 350 students. Our small student population has allowed for students and teachers to forge close relationships with one another in their individual journeys of discovery.
Fairview Johor Bahru is authorised to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Being the first IB World School in the south of Malaysia, Fairview Johor is firmly committed to quality international education.
Dedicated to providing premier yet affordable education, Fairview International School was established in 1978 for parents seeking a more enriching and comprehensive form of learning. From its humble beginnings and only a handful of students, Fairview International School is now home to well over 2,000 students in four IB World Schools across Malaysia, representing over 65 different nations.
Established in 1978, Fairview was founded by a group of like-minded parents seeking greater educational opportunities for their children. Despite the schools many achievements, Fairview lacked one thing – a true home. Until 2009 the students and staff of the Kuala Lumpur campus had been uprooted several times from one location to another, for various reasons.
Since then, Fairview has grown in leaps and bounds, reaching a significant milestone of 35 years in 2014. More importantly, Fairview has inspired the minds of thousands of students over the years; students who not only achieve outstanding academic results but are nurtured socially, emotionally and physically. Our students leave the halls of Fairview as internationally minded global citizens, equipped with essential skills for the many challenges of the 21st century.
Fairview International School is the only IB World School in Malaysia to offer the continuum of IB programmes; the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).

Since 2014 Fairview International School’s Johor Bahru campus is now permanently located in Bandar Dato Onn. This first fully-owned campus features Multi purpose hall, classrooms, auditorium, playing fields, sports halls contained within a sprawling modern complex.
“Johor Bahru is situated at the southern-most tip of the Malaysian peninsula, just across the causeway from Singapore. It’s the second largest city in Malaysia and offers great food and a rich culture and history. Locals affectionately call it ‘JB’, and it’s home to Malay, Chinese, Indian and international communities.
We opened Fairview International School here in JB, back in 2008. We are one of the top IB schools in the state, and the only one to offer IB to students aged from 4 to 17, through our Early Years, Primary Years and Middle Years programmes.
We recently added our very own Cambridge Plus stream, so our parents can choose between IB and Cambridge options for their child’s pathway to academic success.
